The Sacred Harp

During my third year in the Graphic Design program, I was assigned a project called The Sacred Harp, which required us to design a vinyl album cover for a music genre or artist of our choice. Having a family history with The Sacred Harp, a primitive music genre also known as shape note music, I decided to create a modernized cover for this traditional genre. To achieve this, I incorporated all the shapes found in the notes and utilized wave patterns to depict the various voices that converge to produce the music. In addition, I paid homage to the genre's origins by including traditional elements such as images of churches and vintage photography throughout my design.
